About The Position

A Visionworks Onsite Telehealth Specialist (TS), also titled Optometric Assistant (Telehealth), is the face of patient care and helps ensure a positive experience during each telemedicine remote eye exam. The role requires knowledge of eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The specialist guides patients through their Visionworks experience and helps address their eye exam and eyewear needs. The position assists with remote eye exam processes, serves as a liaison between patients and telemedicine remote physicians, maintains accurate patient records, and supports the transition from the exam to the sales floor. It also includes operational tasks that support the exam lane and patient experience.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.

Nice To Haves

Related customer or patient experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with remote eye exam processes and serve as a liaison between patients and telemedicine remote physicians.
Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
Introduce the patient to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and provide associates with information to help educate patients and recommend suitable products and services.
Support daily store operations related to exam lane maintenance and patient experience, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.
