About The Position

The Visionworks Onsite Telehealth Specialist (TS), also titled Optometric Assistant (Telehealth), is a key part of patient care during telehealth remote eye exams. The role guides patients through their Visionworks experience and helps ensure their eye exam and eyewear needs are met. The specialist is trained in eye health and preliminary testing, optics, company products and services, and managed vision care. They coordinate with remote physicians and store associates while supporting exam-lane operations and the patient experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.

Nice To Haves

• Related customer or patient experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with remote eye exam processes and serve as a liaison between patients and telemedicine remote physicians.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
• Introduce patients to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
• Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and give associates information to help them educate patients and recommend products and services suited to their eye-care needs.
• Support day-to-day operations and exam-lane maintenance by restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.
