About The Position

The Optician I ensures patients receive high-quality care by helping them choose corrective lenses and frames suited to their medical needs and lifestyle preferences. The role includes reviewing prescriptions and orders, managing optical inventory, placing orders with a general understanding of insurance benefits, and performing eyewear adjustments and repairs. The optician also works toward sales goals while addressing patients’ specific needs and communicates with physicians about prescriptions and other eye-related concerns. Requirements

• Optical experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided to the right person.

Responsibilities

• Review physicians’ prescriptions and orders based on medical charts.
• Educate patients about corrective lens options and help them select options that meet their medical needs and lifestyle preferences.
• Provide honest, compassionate feedback about patients’ aesthetic frame choices.
• Achieve sales goals and quotas set by office staff while attending to patients’ needs and desires.
• Manage frame and contact lens inventory to support customer satisfaction and product variety.
• Communicate with physicians about questions or concerns regarding prescriptions and other eye-related issues.
• Perform eyewear adjustments and repairs.
• Place optical orders with a general understanding of insurance benefits.
