About The Position

This role involves assisting patients in selecting eyewear, educating them on lens and frame choices, and managing the order process from entry to dispensing. The position also includes patient follow-up, eyewear adjustments and repairs, inventory management, and maintaining optical displays. The clinic provides comprehensive training, making prior medical office experience unnecessary. Bilingual skills are a plus, and the company values team members who can connect with diverse patient backgrounds.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to calculate insurance co-pay based on insurance eligibility.
Ability to accurately enter spectacle orders.
Ability to monitor status on a daily basis.
Ability to receive spectacle orders into system, verify order, notify patients, and schedule dispensing.
Ability to contact patients for follow up on progress of adapting to dispensed eyewear and prescribed contacts.
Ability to perform adjustments and repairs when necessary.
Ability to troubleshoot patient concerns with eyewear when necessary.
Ability to maintain inventory pertaining to all aspects of the optical retail area, including lab supplies.
Ability to report inventory as required.
Ability to maintain displays of optical merchandise.
Ability to monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual skills are a plus.
Sales/retail experience is preferred.
Previous optician experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist patients in the selection process of spectacles, providing education on quality choices, lens selection, and frame styling to fit their lifestyle and prescription.

Accurately enter spectacle orders; ensure timely delivery by monitoring status on a daily basis.
Receive spectacle orders into system, verify order, notify patients, and schedule dispensing.
Contact patients for follow up on progress of adapting to dispensed eyewear and prescribed contacts.
Perform adjustments and repairs when necessary.
Troubleshoot patient concerns with eyewear when necessary.
Maintain inventory pertaining to all aspects of the optical retail area, including lab supplies.
Report inventory as required.
Maintain displays of optical merchandise.
Monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).
