About The Position

This role is crucial in helping patients see the world clearly and confidently. The Optician - Eyewear Consultant will guide patients in selecting frames and lenses, process orders accurately, perform fittings and adjustments, and contribute to the overall operations and merchandising of the optical practice. The position requires a patient-first mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to excellent customer service within a professional medical office setting.

Responsibilities

  • Guide patients in selecting frames and lenses that align with their prescription, lifestyle, and preferences
  • Clearly explain doctor recommendations and lens options, including features and benefits
  • Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage
  • Accurately enter and manage spectacle orders
  • Verify insurance eligibility and calculate patient co-pays
  • Monitor order status to ensure timely delivery
  • Notify patients when orders are ready and coordinate dispensing
  • Conduct follow-up outreach to ensure patient satisfaction and successful adaptation
  • Perform fittings, adjustments, and minor repairs
  • Address and resolve patient concerns related to eyewear
  • Maintain accurate inventory of frames, lenses, and optical supplies
  • Create and maintain organized, visually appealing displays
  • Support efficient patient flow and communicate delays when necessary
  • Collaborate with providers and team members to ensure a seamless patient experience
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the practice
