About The Position

The Optical Specialist is a customer-facing role at the heart of the Eyeglass World in-store experience. The position delivers confident, attentive service and takes ownership of key parts of the customer journey, including pre-exam support, eyewear readiness, fitting, and pickup. It combines customer connection, optical support, and finishing work to provide consistent, high-quality experiences aligned with the Eyeglass World brand.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service.
Hold an active dispensing license as required by the state.
Strong multitasking, time-management, and organizational skills.
Clear communication skills and the ability to educate customers effectively.
Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction in every interaction.
Ability to support the store team in shared goals.

Responsibilities

Deliver warm, confident, personalized service throughout each customer visit.
Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education.
Help customers feel confident in their eyewear and overall experience.
Assist with patient flow and pre-exam screenings to support Optometrists.
Help ensure smooth transitions between exams, finishing, and pickup.
Perform finishing work, including final adjustments, inspections, and quality checks.
Ensure eyewear meets Eyeglass World standards for fit, function, and presentation.
Prepare orders for pickup and provide a polished, brand-aligned handoff.
Support order entry, tracking, and timely completion.
Maintain organized, clean, and efficient finishing and retail areas.
Proactively identify and resolve quality or service issues.
Model Eyeglass World service standards, tone, and behaviors.
Uphold the store’s visual, experiential, and operational brand standards.
Partner with the store team to deliver a consistent, elevated experience.
