About The Position

The Optical Specialist is a customer-facing role at the heart of the Eyeglass World in-store experience. The position brings the brand to life through confident service, attention to detail, and ownership of key customer moments, including pre-exam support, eyewear readiness, fitting, and pickup. It combines customer connection, optical support, and finishing work to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service.
Active dispensing license, as required by the state.
Strong multitasking, time-management, and organizational skills.
Clear communication skills and the ability to educate customers effectively.
Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction at every interaction.
Ability to support the store team in shared goals.

Responsibilities

Deliver warm, confident, personalized service throughout each customer visit.
Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education.
Help customers feel confident in their eyewear and overall experience.
Assist with patient flow and pre-exam screenings to support optometrists.
Help coordinate smooth transitions between exams, finishing, and pickup.
Perform finishing work, including final adjustments, inspections, and quality checks.
Ensure eyewear meets Eyeglass World standards for fit, function, and presentation.
Prepare orders for pickup and provide a polished, brand-aligned handoff.
Support order entry and tracking, and help ensure timely completion.
Maintain clean, organized, and efficient finishing and retail areas.
Proactively identify and resolve quality or service issues.
Model Eyeglass World service standards and uphold visual, experiential, and operational brand standards.
Partner with the store team to deliver a consistent customer experience and support shared goals.
