About The Position

National Vision operates Vista Optical locations on military exchanges throughout the United States, serving military personnel and their families. The Licensed Optician helps customers see their best by dispensing and fitting eyewear, providing excellent customer service, and supporting store sales and operational standards. The role includes assisting with eyeglasses and contact lenses, maintaining patient records and inventory, following up on orders, and mentoring Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law. The position is part-time, and the stores are closed on Sundays.

Requirements

Hold an active dispensing license as required by the state.
Have 3 or more years of related experience or training.
Have strong customer service and clear communication abilities.
Have confident selling skills and the ability to meet store goals.
Be organized, detail-minded, and able to multitask in a busy setting.
Be professional, friendly, and comfortable working with a variety of people.

Previous retail experience.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with eyeglass and contact lens dispensing, including contact lens insertion and removal training and product education.
Deliver exceptional customer service while meeting sales goals and company objectives.
Maintain accurate patient records and manage order follow-up, including customer notifications and weekly outreach.
Support quality and operational excellence by reducing remakes, following safety standards, and adhering to company policies.
Maintain inventory control, merchandising standards, and a clean, organized work environment.
Mentor Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.
