About The Position

This position serves as the backbone of operations by processing accounts payable for assigned departments. The incumbent will work within a team to ensure various financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills for interacting with faculty, staff, students, and vendors, as well as the ability to navigate financial systems and adapt to new software and procedures. Professional growth and team collaboration are emphasized.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of general accounts transaction experience.
  • Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
  • Strong written and verbal skills for professional communication with faculty, staff, students, and vendors.
  • Ability to navigate ticketing systems, email communications, and other communication systems.
  • Ability to perform virtual and in-person conversations.
  • Ability to work within a team.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe, and Teams programs.
  • Skilled in accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable for assigned departments.
  • Process purchase credit cards (pcards), requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, reimbursements, travel requests, travel expense reports, deposits, and cash advances.
  • Perform review, analysis, and accurate data entry within selected software.
  • Learn new skills to accommodate new software applications and procedures.
  • Navigate UF financial systems to verify allowable funds, upload documentation, and ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to training sessions and team efforts.
  • Contribute to special projects or perform other duties as assigned.
