About The Position

The Operations Technical Trainer is responsible for equipment and process training within their assigned department and shift, supporting other shifts as needed. This role ensures operators are trained correctly, consistently, and measurably, with training directly supporting safety, quality, and performance outcomes. This is an on-the-floor role focused on training execution, validation, and effectiveness. While not a direct supervisory role, it significantly influences operator performance and adherence to standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • At least one to two years of experience in a training or supervisory capacity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly articulate in speech, connect with others, collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners, and handle disagreements and difficult conversations in a positive manner.
  • Proficiency in demonstrating technical knowledge in a manufacturing environment, delivering instruction, and providing constructive feedback to trainees.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals of different learning preferences or styles.
  • Proficiency in impartially conducting practical tests, skill checks, or formal on-the-floor assessments.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute work tasks independently according to a schedule or list of priorities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting business priorities.
  • Ability to provide structured coaching and influence behavior change on the production floor.
  • Basic computer skills, including Cornerstone LMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Three to five years of experience conducting technical training in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience or certification in the TWI Job Instruction methodology.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of Pharmavite equipment and processes in the Gummies or Packaging departments.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates hands-on equipment and process training for operators within the assigned department and shift.
  • Conducts and documents skill assessments and recertifications.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for new hire training within the area after orientation.
  • Utilizes standardized training formats (SOP, JI, JIB documents and assessments) to support training.
  • Updates standardized documents for accuracy as needed.
  • Utilizes the Training within Industry Job Instruction methodology during instruction.
  • Monitors operators during normal production to verify process adherence.
  • Provides structured, documented coaching to close performance or knowledge gaps.
  • Supports operators with retraining after process updates.
  • Supports the rollout of One Point Lessons by facilitating and documenting training.
  • Tracks and reports training effectiveness using defined metrics (e.g., skill proficiency, error reduction, training completion).
  • Validates that documented processes are being trained and executed as designed.
  • Identifies gaps between standard work and actual practice and partners with leadership to revise procedures as needed.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional business partners (EHS, Quality, Operations, Operations Excellence) to provide training that follows all GMP, GDP, Safety, and Operational standards.
  • Leads or supports targeted training projects tied to business needs (e.g., changeover time reduction, error reduction).
  • Supports process rollouts and updates through training according to established training plans.
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Conducts training classes, tutorials, or help sessions on a group or individual basis.
  • Primarily trains on the production floor, but may perform in a classroom, through demonstrations, or through coaching, as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
