About The Position

The Operations Manager supports First Watch’s You First culture and core values while overseeing daily restaurant operations. The role maintains high operating standards, supports an exceptional breakfast, brunch, or lunch experience, and helps the restaurant meet or exceed sales and traffic goals. The manager follows the company’s food and service standards, responds promptly to customer and employee concerns, and takes ownership of repair and maintenance issues.

The role also includes food-safety oversight, recruiting, training, coaching, and developing team members; securing company assets; addressing inappropriate behavior; recognizing strong performance; accounting for daily revenue and deposits; and completing administrative duties and required paperwork on time. First Watch describes its schedule as one shift with no night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Learn and support the You First culture and core values.
• Oversee daily operations to ensure they run according to plan and meet high standards.
• Ensure recipes are followed and uphold the company’s food standards.
• Understand restaurant sales and traffic goals and work to exceed them.
• Coach and observe the First Watch Five Steps of Service at every table.
• Understand and put the company’s 10 Commandments into action.
• Respond urgently to customer and employee concerns.
• Take immediate ownership of repair and maintenance issues.
• Maintain food-safety certification and identify and coach safe food-handling practices.
• Scout and interview candidates for the team.
• Keep company assets secure, including computers, point-of-sale systems, security systems, and equipment.
• Understand the key responsibilities of every restaurant position.
• Stop inappropriate behavior immediately and investigate as needed.
• Train, coach, and develop team members daily.
• Recognize performance that goes above and beyond.
• Account for daily revenues and deposits.
• Complete administrative duties and submit required paperwork on time.
