Operations Intern
About The Position
Trimble is seeking an Operations Intern to gain hands-on supply chain experience and help optimize distribution center operations. The intern will work in a fast-paced warehousing environment and partner with distribution center directors and managers to test software, roll out automation, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves gathering and analyzing supply chain data, documenting technology changes, making data-driven process recommendations, and presenting a capstone project to leadership. The position is located in Dayton, Ohio, with 0% travel, and is scheduled for May/June 2027 through August/September 2027. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and confidence collaborating with senior colleagues and stakeholders.
- Goal-oriented, self-starting, and collaborative, with a team-first mindset.
- Basic computer proficiency and strong analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Must already have authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity or experience with Google Suite tools and data analytics platforms.
- Prior exposure to warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in logistics, materials, engineering, purchasing, and quality to advance operational project goals.
- Use ERP, PLM, and WMS programs to gather and analyze supply chain data for decision-making.
- Test and document software enhancements and automation rollouts within the distribution center.
- Provide data-driven process recommendations and present capstone project findings to leadership.
