About The Position

Guitar Center’s Operations Associate supports store operations by handling shipping and receiving, completing daily tasks, and ensuring products are merchandised to provide customers with a positive store experience. The role contributes to Guitar Center’s mission of nurturing lifelong musicians and making the joy of creating music accessible to musicians and non-musicians alike. Successful associates collaborate with teammates, focus on customers, take initiative, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, protect store assets, and learn the technology and systems needed for retail operations.

Requirements

Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to work in a loud environment for 5–8 hours.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships.
Customer-service orientation and ability to provide a positive customer experience.
Initiative, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment.
Ability to learn and use retail technology, systems, equipment, and computer programs.

Responsibilities

Perform tasks related to inventory control.
Ship and receive gear and other items.
Prepare for and execute inventory cycle counts.
Stock and merchandise products according to a planogram.
Print and place signage and price signs (POP).
Handle cash.
Maintain awareness of and help control shrink.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
