About The Position

The Operations Associate supports store operations at Guitar Center by shipping and receiving stock and shipments, administering daily tasks, and ensuring products are merchandised to provide customers with a positive store experience. The role calls for collaboration, customer focus, initiative, organizational skills, and the ability to learn and use retail technology and systems. Associates help develop an inclusive, customer-first environment that supports Guitar Center’s mission to nurture lifelong musicians and share the joy of creating music.

Requirements

Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to work in a loud environment for 5–8 hours.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Collaboration and teamwork skills.
Customer service skills and the ability to provide a positive customer experience.
Initiative and the ability to identify issues or opportunities and follow through.
Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment.
Ability to learn and use technology, retail systems, equipment, and computer programs.

Responsibilities

Perform tasks related to inventory control.
Ship and receive gear and other items.
Prepare and execute inventory cycle counts.
Stock and merchandise products according to a planogram.
Print and place signage and price signs (POP).
Handle cash.
Maintain awareness of shrink and help control it.
Complete additional duties as assigned.
