About The Position

The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk, also referred to as an In-Store Grocery Shopper, selects and gathers products for customers’ online orders efficiently while ensuring freshness and quality. The role includes assembling and processing orders, communicating substitutions or exceptions, and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles at pickup. The clerk provides a positive customer service experience and demonstrates the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The position requires following food-safety procedures, company guidelines, and applicable local, state, and federal laws. Clerks maintain staging areas and equipment, complete opening and closing procedures, meet productivity standards, and assist with training new e-Commerce team members. They must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Ability to work without supervision.

Responsibilities

Select and gather products for customers’ online orders efficiently, ensuring freshness and quality.
Initiate and complete the selection process for online orders.
Assemble orders, process coupons and payments, and deliver and load orders into customers’ cars at pickup.
Scan and bag orders while following bagging standards.
Communicate substitutions and order exceptions to customers at pickup.
Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
Follow applicable laws, food-safety procedures, and company guidelines.
Receive orders from the Order Selector and store products in appropriate temperature zones.
Read and follow directions in order notes.
Communicate with customers by portable phone and respond professionally and promptly.
Retrieve orders from staging locations, verify accuracy, and load them into customers’ cars.
Process orders through the point-of-sale system.
Follow policies and procedures for selecting substitutions when items are out of stock.
Maintain the organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
Report pricing, scanning, item-location, and invalid-temperature-type discrepancies to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
Inspect equipment and notify the Pick-Up supervisor or other store management when repairs are needed.
Perform required opening and closing procedures.
Assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
Meet or exceed productivity standards.
