About The Position

The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk, working as an In-Store Grocery Shopper, selects and gathers products for customers’ online orders efficiently while ensuring freshness and quality. The role assembles orders, processes coupons and payments, and delivers orders to customers’ vehicles when they arrive for pickup. It also provides a positive customer service experience and demonstrates the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The position involves scanning and bagging items while following bagging standards, communicating order substitutions or exceptions, storing products in appropriate temperature zones, and ensuring order accuracy. The clerk follows food safety procedures and applicable laws, maintains clean and organized staging areas and equipment, performs opening and closing procedures, meets productivity standards, and may assist with training new e-Commerce team members. The role requires cooperation in a fast-paced environment, sound handling of conflict and business information, and support for customers including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Select and gather products for customers’ online orders efficiently, with attention to freshness and quality.
Initiate and complete the selection process for online orders.
Assemble orders, process coupons and payments, and deliver and load orders into customers’ cars at pickup.
Scan and bag orders while following bagging standards.
Communicate substitutions or order exceptions to customers at pickup.
Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
Follow local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
Receive orders from the Order Selector according to guidelines and store products in optimal temperature zones.
Read and follow directions in order notes.
Ensure the quality and freshness of selected items.
Communicate with customers by portable phone and respond professionally and promptly.
Retrieve orders from staging locations, verify accuracy, and load them into customers’ cars.
Process orders through the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Follow policies and procedures to determine appropriate substitutions for out-of-stock items.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
Report pricing, scanning, item-location, and invalid-temperature-type discrepancies to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
Inspect equipment and report repair needs to the store Pick-Up supervisor or other store management.
Perform required opening and closing procedures.
Assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
Meet or exceed productivity standards.
