About The Position

The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk selects and gathers products for customers’ online orders efficiently, with attention to freshness and quality. The role includes assembling orders, processing coupons and payments, and delivering and loading completed orders into customers’ cars at pickup. The clerk provides a positive customer service experience and demonstrates the company’s values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The position also involves following food safety procedures and company guidelines, maintaining clean and organized staging areas and equipment, and meeting productivity standards.

Requirements

Ability to work without supervision.
Ability to read shelf tags.
Basic math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Initiate and complete the selection process for customers’ online orders.
Select and gather products efficiently while ensuring quality and freshness.
Receive orders from the Order Selector according to guidelines and store products in optimal temperature zones.
Read and follow instructions in order notes.
Scan and bag orders while following bagging standards.
Assemble orders, process coupons and payments through the point-of-sale system, and communicate substitutions or order exceptions to customers at pickup.
Retrieve orders from staging locations, verify accuracy, and deliver and load orders into customers’ cars.
Communicate with customers by portable phone and respond professionally and promptly.
Follow policies and procedures to determine appropriate substitutions for out-of-stock items.
Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
Follow local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
Maintain the organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
Report pricing, scanning, item-location, and invalid-temperature-type discrepancies to the store e-Commerce supervisor.
Inspect equipment and notify the store Pick-Up supervisor or other store management when repairs are needed.
Perform required opening and closing procedures.
Assist in training new e-Commerce team members.
Meet or exceed productivity standards.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.
Handle customer and business information honestly and with integrity.
Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
