About The Position

The Office Coordinator and Coder maintains a good attitude, strong, dependable work ethic, and uses excellent communication and organizational skills to oversee office/clinic system, ensuring efficient, effective, and patient-sensitive operations. This role involves maintaining physician files, managing patient/procedure information for data collection and reporting, and responsible for the coding of all surgeries/visits under physician directions. The position requires a high level of communication and computer/word processing skills.

Requirements

Associate degree/medical secretary or 2 years of coding experience
Two years physician office experience or two to three years medical related office/supervisor experience
Excellent interpretive and analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
High level of attention to detail
Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
Frequently sit, handle, finger, feel, reach, talk, and hear.
Occasionally stand, walk, stop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
Exert up to 25 lbs of force occasionally.
Frequently requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus as well as occasional distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

Maintains/updates physician files.
Maintains secretarial/organizational skills at high level.
Maintains monthly patients/procedure information file for data collections/reporting and dissemination of same to appropriate personnel according to guidelines.
Responsible for coding of all surgeries/visits under physician directions
Maintains high level of communication skills as well as computer/word processing skills.
