About The Position

This is a travel assignment for an Occupational Therapist in Acute Care, located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The contract is for 13 weeks, starting on 09/07/2026, with a guaranteed 35 hours per week. The setting is a Skilled Nursing Facility. The role involves conducting comprehensive OT evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, delivering therapy sessions, documenting patient progress, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, educating residents and families, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Active occupational therapy license for New Mexico or eligibility for NM licensure.
Graduation from an ACOTE-accredited OT program.
Relevant experience in acute care or skilled nursing facility settings preferred.
Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary travel assignment and meet the 35-hour-per-week guarantee over the 13-week contract.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for residents in a setting with acute care needs.
Deliver therapy sessions to improve activities of daily living, mobility, cognition, and functional independence; adapt activities to maximize safety and participation.
Document assessments, goals, progress notes, and discharge plans in the electronic health record; revise plans based on re-evaluation and patient response.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including nursing, therapy disciplines, physicians, and social work to coordinate care and discharge planning.
Educate residents and families on activity strategies, safety, adaptive equipment, and home environment modifications; provide caregiver coaching as needed.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, facility policies, and infection control standards; maintain patient safety throughout all interventions.
