As an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA), you will support the Occupational Therapist in administering Occupational Therapy services to populations of all ages. In this role, you will help these patients improve their ability to complete necessary daily tasks, manage their own care and live independently. Every day, you can leave a positive and lasting impression on them, allowing you to not only enhance their lives but also the lives of their families, friends and communities. This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this position works varying day shift hours, Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or certificate
  • Must be a graduate of a Occupational Therapy Assistant Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Current State licensure as a Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certification

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, administer patient-centered Occupational Therapy, incorporating evidence-based practice and skilled techniques to achieve optimal functional outcomes.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to primary therapist.
  • Act as a Clinical Instructor or participate in the education and evaluation of students.
  • Act as a resource for volunteers and observers.
  • Participate in staff development and education programs within the department and interdepartmental education of other professional staff.
  • Direct and supervise the activities of support personnel while retaining responsibility for patient care.
