About The Position

Responsible for handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment needed during obstetrical operations in the Operating Room located in the Labor and Delivery unit. Understands the procedure being performed, anticipates the surgeon’s needs, and maintains vigilance in preserving the sterile field. Provides quality patient care during operative procedures and performs patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Graduate from a Surgical Technologist training program, or have 1 year of previous operating room experience as a Surgical/Delivery Room Technologist, or have 3 years of experience providing direct patient care in a clinical setting.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification preferred.
