About The Position

The O/N Sanitation team member maintains the cleanliness and physical appearance of the facility, including internal and external areas, with special emphasis on the dock. The position includes removing snow and ice from the warehouse, managing empty pallets, reporting damage, and maintaining food safety, housekeeping, and other applicable standards. The role also requires consistent attendance and training and mentoring other team members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to read and understand label data.
• Ability to read small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without corrective lenses.
• Good hand-eye coordination and depth perception to operate a forklift, reach truck, and HiLo safely and accurately.
• Ability to take directions using a headset selection system such as VoCollect.
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to frequently or continually sit, stand, walk, bend, and squat in a refrigerated warehouse environment.
• Ability to frequently grasp, reach, push, or pull items such as product boxes or a hand truck.
• Ability to step onto and down from equipment as required by the task.
• Ability to reach above shoulder level frequently and build pallets up to 6 feet tall with case weights up to 50 pounds.
• Endurance for continuous, fast-paced work.
• Ability to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Ability to work in a noisy warehouse environment and wear and communicate through headsets for extended periods as required by the location.
• Ability to safely and accurately use job-related equipment after training.
• Ability to work while wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to handle and work near products that may contain food allergens.
• Ability to work at elevated heights while wearing required fall-protection PPE.

Nice To Haves

• College coursework, continuing technical education, or comparable business experience.
• Warehouse experience.
• Experience operating material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of internal and external facility areas by sweeping, mopping, tidying, and removing trash, with special emphasis on the dock.
• Remove snow and ice build-up within the warehouse.
• Manage empty pallets as appropriate.
• Promptly report damage to a supervisor.
• Maintain food safety, housekeeping, and other applicable standards.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
• Train and mentor other team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
