About The Position

Maintain the internal and external cleanliness and physical appearance of the facility. The role includes housekeeping and sanitation work in a warehouse, with special emphasis on the dock, and requires working in a refrigerated environment that can reach -20 degrees Fahrenheit. Team members may operate material handling equipment and work at elevated heights while using required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to read and understand label data and small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without corrective lenses.
• Good hand-eye coordination and depth perception to operate a forklift, reach truck, and HiLo safely and accurately.
• Ability to take directions using a headset selection system such as VoCollect.
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet customer needs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and squat frequently to continually in a refrigerated warehouse environment.
• Ability to grasp, reach, push, or pull items such as product boxes or a hand truck frequently.
• Ability to step onto and down from equipment as required by the task.
• Ability to reach above shoulder level frequently and build pallets up to 6 feet tall with case weights up to 50 pounds.
• Endurance for continuous, fast-paced work and ability to adjust to fluctuating temperatures, including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Ability to work in a noisy warehouse and wear and communicate through headsets for extended periods as required by location.
• Ability to safely and accurately use job equipment after training, including a computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, forklift, and reach truck.
• Ability to work while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, such as steel-toed protective footwear, a harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, and insulated clothing.
• Ability to handle and be physically near products that may contain food allergens, such as fish, shellfish, and peanuts.
• Ability to work at elevated heights while wearing required personal protective equipment, such as fall-protection harnesses.

Nice To Haves

• College coursework, continuing technical education, or comparable business experience.
• Warehouse experience.
• Experience operating material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of internal and external facility areas, including sweeping, mopping, tidying, and trash removal, with special emphasis on the dock.
• Remove snow and ice buildup within the warehouse.
• Manage empty pallets as appropriate.
• Promptly report damage to a supervisor.
• Maintain food safety, housekeeping, and other applicable standards.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
• Train and mentor other team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
