About The Position

Inova Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital that provides inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. Nursing Assistants provide compassionate care to patients throughout this recovery process. The role includes support with personal care, hourly rounds, patient transportation, cleaning equipment and rooms, and maintaining unit supplies.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience of 3 or more years.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant.
• Nursing assistant certification.
• Experience in a related field, such as medical assistant work or active enrollment as an RN student.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient-care services, including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
• Participate in hourly rounds.
• Transport patients to and from treatment centers as necessary, and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment, including bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
• Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
