About The Position
Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is hiring a full-time Nursing Assistant for its inpatient rehabilitation hospital at 300 Market Street in Saddle Brook, New Jersey. The position works day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., including weekday and weekend shifts. Compensation is $21.00–$25.59 per hour based on experience, plus shift differential. The hospital provides care for people facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The role supports patients' daily care, mobility, nutrition, comfort, and transportation. New employees receive an extensive orientation program. Post-offer employment testing is completed during onboarding before the first workday.
Requirements
- Certified BLS or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Hospital experience.
- Certification as a nursing assistant.
Responsibilities
- Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data.
- Assist patients with personal and daily care, including bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care.
- Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who cannot feed themselves, and document oral intake, including supplements.
- Safely turn and position immobile patients while maintaining proper body alignment, and participate in the mobility program.
- Answer patient call lights and perform services that support patients' physical well-being.
- Transport patients to designated areas, including to and from treatment centers.
