About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Nursing Assistant provides compassionate care to patients during their recovery, supporting their daily care needs and assisting with patient transport and the maintenance of a clean, orderly care environment. The position is based in Battle Creek, Michigan, and is full-time on days, working three 12-hour shifts per week. Compensation is $18.00 to $24.24 per hour based on experience, with competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered. Requirements

High school diploma/GED or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Hospital experience as a nursing assistant.
Nursing assistant certification.
Experience in a related field, such as medical assistant work or being an actively enrolled RN student.

Responsibilities

Provide patient services including bathing with basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care.
Participate in hourly rounds.
Transport patients to and from treatment centers when necessary and assist transporters with moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
Maintain the cleanliness of instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs.
Keep patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
