About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for its Cardiac Telemetry Unit. The role provides direct patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director, and may receive guidance from an LPN. The position contributes to patient safety, comfort, and the organization’s mission and goals. Duties vary by patient care unit and department, and are performed within the role’s scope to meet applicable regulatory and accrediting requirements. This position is 32 hours per week, with a mix of 8- and 12-hour day shifts and an every-other-weekend and holiday rotation. The role has no call obligation. Qualified candidates may be eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $1,500.

Requirements

If not already certified as a Nursing Assistant, register as a Nurse Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health within 3 months of employment.
Obtain BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Certified Nursing Assistant through the North Dakota Department of Health is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide personal hygiene care and assist with patients’ nutritional needs.
Provide comfort care and other assistance to patients.
Transfer patients appropriately and safely.
Take vital signs and complete recordkeeping.
Recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition to the RN.
Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.
Work within job scope to meet requirements of The Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.
