About The Position

The Nurse Technician provides essential support to nursing staff by performing basic patient care duties, assisting with activities of daily living, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable patient environment. The role is at Baptist Memorial Rehabilitation Hospital - Germantown, a 64-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital serving people recovering from severe injury or illness. The hospital provides individualized rehabilitation for patients with conditions including stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.

This is a full-time night position. The Nurse Technician performs basic care and mobility support, assists with toileting and patient transitions, measures and documents vital signs and intake and output, and responds to patient call lights and communication systems. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• CPR/BCLS certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of six months of experience in an acute or long-term care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care tasks, including hygiene, grooming, and mobility support.
• Provide general nursing care, including patient positioning, lifting, turning, and use of assistive equipment.
• Assist patients with toileting using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation.
• Take and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, and blood pressure, and measure intake and output.
• Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge, including handling personal belongings.
• Maintain a clean and comfortable patient environment.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights, telephone, and paging systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
