About The Position

Salem Memorial Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Rehabilitation Technician to help support patient care and therapy goals. The position is based at a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in Salem, Missouri, in a fast-paced team environment with opportunities to learn and grow. The schedule is full-time days, Monday through Friday.

The Rehabilitation Technician follows patient care tasks set by the OTR/RPT, transports patients safely, communicates with the rehabilitation team, and observes patient reactions to treatment. The role also includes lifting and carrying equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, using proper body mechanics, and completing other assigned duties. On-the-job training is available after orientation for candidates who need it.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Patient transport and safe lifting techniques, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Observation and basic documentation skills.
• Reliability, teamwork, and time-management skills.
• CPR certification, as required.

Nice To Haves

• Six to twelve months of relevant experience in a rehabilitation setting is strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Follow patient care tasks determined by the OTR/RPT to help patients achieve therapy goals.
• Safely transport patients to and from therapy and other activities.
• Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with members of the rehabilitation team.
• Observe and recognize patient reactions to treatment and follow instructions accurately.
• Lift and carry equipment, supplies, and materials up to 50 pounds regularly, using proper body mechanics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
