About The Position
The Nurse Extern is a student enrolled in a professional nursing education program who seeks experiential learning opportunities to practice skills learned in the academic program under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. This per diem opportunity offers the possibility of working in several departments throughout the facility, covering various shifts, and working overtime if interested. Wellington Regional Medical Center is a 235-bed acute care hospital in Wellington, Florida. Requirements
- High school graduate, with the ability to read and write and working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong communication skills for relating to staff and patients.
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
- Enrolled in a professional nursing education program for one year.
- Letter of recommendation from a faculty member at the school attended.
Responsibilities
- Practice skills learned in the nursing education program under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Provide care and support to patients as part of the clinical team.
