About The Position

The Night Auditor serves as the hotel’s overnight manager on duty, front desk representative, and financial auditor. The role welcomes late-night arrivals, handles guest transactions and requests, helps maintain guest safety, closes out the day’s business, and prepares the morning team for success. The position is part-time, with a night audit shift from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. at HIX Mechanicsville in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

The role offers overnight work with a calmer pace and opportunities to develop leadership, hotel accounting, reporting, and brand-systems experience. The company describes opportunities for advancement within its portfolio of more than 80 hotels.

Requirements

• Positive attitude and willingness to help others.
• Availability for overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Dependability and the ability to stay alert, organized, and professional throughout the night.
• Strong guest service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and confidence working with numbers, payments, and reports.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience (preferred).
• 1–2 years of hotel front desk or night audit experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Welcome late-night guests and handle check-ins, check-outs, and guest requests.
• Complete the nightly audit, reconcile transactions, and balance daily financial activity.
• Serve as the overnight point of contact, responding to guest concerns and following hotel procedures.
• Conduct security walks around the property.
• Help set up the breakfast area when needed.
• Participate in front office meetings and training.
