Night Auditor
About The Position
The Night Auditor performs end-of-day accounting tasks and overnight front desk duties. The role assists late-night guests, processes check-ins and check-outs, responds to customer requests, and audits, reconciles, and balances daily financial activities. The Night Auditor also acts as the manager on duty and as a PBX operator during overnight hours, while helping prepare the front office for the next shift and assisting with breakfast-area setup as needed. This is a part-time position at HIX Mechanicsville in Mechanicsville, Virginia, with a scheduled night-audit shift from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. The role is part of Shamin Hotels, a hotel owner and operator with more than 70 hotels across multiple states.
Requirements
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Financial management skills.
- High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- One to two years of hotel front desk or night auditor experience preferred.
- Brand systems knowledge preferred.
- Teamwork and collaboration; ownership and responsibility; willingness to keep learning; and a positive, caring approach to guest service.
Nice To Haves

- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in a hotel or related field.
- One to two years of hotel front desk or night auditor experience.

Responsibilities
- Perform daily audit procedures established by the hotel and company.
- Prepare and attribute all required audit reports.
- Verify the status of wake-up call requests and ensure they are handled properly.
- Balance cash receipts and work performed during the audit shift.
- Prepare the front office for the A shift and reset the day's business.
- Act as a guest service representative during nighttime hours.
- Act as the manager on duty during nighttime hours.
- Attend and actively participate in front office meetings.
- Participate in training and cross-training programs.
- Act as the PBX operator during the audit shift.
- Assist breakfast attendants with setting up breakfast areas as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
- Report to scheduled shifts on time and in uniform, in accordance with company policy.
- Know and comply with company policies and procedures pertaining to the position and its duties.
