About The Position
The Night Auditor works at the hotel front desk during the late shift, serving guests during non-traditional hours and helping close out the business for the day. The role operates semi-independently without management supervision and contributes to the guest experience through attentive, proactive, and caring service. The Night Auditor also monitors activity inside and outside the hotel and watches for weather issues that could threaten guests’ safety. The department operates 24/7, and the position supports a safe, welcoming hotel environment.
Responsibilities
- Process credit card transactions and other daily charges, including restaurant, events, and lounge transactions.
- Operate the phone system, transfer calls, and handle reservations.
- Verify, balance, and review hotel room availability.
- Perform guest check-in and check-out procedures.
- Administer guest payment policies and identify errors from day shifts.
- Prepare folios for morning departing guests.
- Maintain the overall appearance of the lobby and assist with AM breakfast setup if needed.
- Be familiar with all hotel emergency procedures.
- Monitor abnormal activity inside and outside the hotel and monitor potentially threatening weather conditions.
- Help close out the hotel business for the day.
