About The Position

You will be the Sales lead for the Kroger Sweet Baked Snacks strategic business unit with the goal to drive profitable sales growth for both Smucker & Kroger. This role requires working remotely within 200 miles of Cincinnati, Ohio (location of key account) and residing near a major airport. A preferred location is Cincinnati, Ohio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of CPG sales experience with direct national account HQ management experience, with strong preference for Kroger experience.
  • Proven leader in negotiation success.
  • Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience managing trade budget within Trade Planning Software.
  • Proficient in use of syndicated data sources (IRI/Nielsen) and Kroger data sources Market 6 and Stratum.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills (negotiation, selling, presentations, etc).
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships within Kroger.
  • Build & maintain relationships with all internal constituents at J.M. Smucker.
  • Develop strategies to drive brand/category growth and achieve or exceed sales/profit goals.
  • Own & lead negotiation for JBP, CPI, 3CM, new items, key initiatives, etc.
  • Influence key stakeholders to implement solutions through fact-based presentations that deliver results beneficial for both companies.
  • Support and partner with Supply Chain team to drive solutions at Kroger.
  • Grow partnership between customer and internal cross-functional teams to drive innovation and business opportunities.
  • Execute all agreed to programming with customer to include, Kroger forms, item setup/ maintenance, online content, logistics and inventory management, etc.
  • Understand retailer omnichannel marketplace and brand growth opportunities.
  • Own annual business plan & Kroger Joint Business Plan.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of sales and profit components, including merchandising, promotional and supply chain opportunities.
  • Work with syndicated/other data sources to manage and inform strategic and tactical Trade plans.
  • Manage internal sales system (promotions, deductions, forecast, etc).
  • Effectively manage trade budget with accuracy and timely visibility including maintenance of trade planning system.
  • Forecast monthly and quarterly sales and communicate internally for production planning.
  • Communication and alignment with Sales Director on growth opportunities.
  • Ad-hoc financial and data analysis, including pre/post event analysis.
  • Drive business process improvements by working closely with cross-functional business partners and team.
  • Assist in development of business analyst(s) supporting the account.
