About The Position

A Whispering Pines family is seeking a calm, nurturing full-time nanny to care for a 3-month-old infant and a 3.5-year-old child who attends full-time Pre-K3. The infant enjoys being held and has reflux and some feeding challenges, so patience and a gentle approach are important. The older child is home in the afternoons and on early-release days, is in the middle of potty training, and may experience typical toddler meltdowns. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional earlier starts between 7:30 and 8:00 AM when the mother works from the office, with notice. Some date nights or extended hours may be arranged by agreement. The family is interviewing now, with a requested start date of October 28. Candidates apply through the agency website and are interviewed and screened by the agency before being presented to families.

Requirements

• Strong infant-care experience.
• Knowledge of current safe-sleep practices.
• Ability to stay calm and kind during toddler meltdowns.
• Good communication skills and willingness to keep parents informed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience or knowledge related to infant reflux or feeding challenges.

Responsibilities

• Handle bottles and breast milk safely, diaper the infant, soothe the infant, and follow safe-sleep practices.
• Support the introduction of solid foods when appropriate.
• Provide afternoon care for the preschooler, including supporting potty-training routines.
• Offer reading, singing, play, and learning activities.
• Prepare snacks and lunches for the children.
• Do the children's laundry.
• Keep play areas tidy and load the dishwasher as time allows.
• Update the parents about the children's day.
