About The Position

The MRI Technologist II operates MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic images for physicians to use in diagnosing and treating pathologies, following Radiologist directions and established procedures. The role includes positioning patients, administering contrast media injections, and manipulating images to ensure high-quality exams. The technologist explains procedures and answers patients’ questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust, while providing attentive customer service through verbal and nonverbal communication.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification.
Current CPR (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to troubleshoot software-related problems.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or higher.
IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure.
Prior MRI experience or other radiology experience.

Responsibilities

Operate MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic images according to Radiologist directions and established procedures.
Position patients for MRI examinations.
Administer injections of contrast media.
Manipulate images to ensure a high-quality exam.
Explain procedures and provide patients an opportunity to ask questions.
