About The Position

The MRI Technologist II operates MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic images for physicians to use in diagnosing and treating pathologies, following Radiologist directions and established procedures. The technologist positions patients, administers contrast media injections, and manipulates images to ensure high-quality exams. The role also involves providing attentive customer service, explaining procedures, and inviting patient questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust.

This is a full-time position at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, Illinois, with 40 hours per week. The schedule includes Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and weekday shifts from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered. The listed hourly pay range is $36.42–$56.45; the rate depends on factors including expertise and years of experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification.
• Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems related to software.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or higher.
• IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure.
• Prior MRI experience or other radiology experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic images for physicians, following Radiologist directions and established procedures.
• Position patients for MRI examinations.
• Administer injections of contrast media.
• Manipulate images to ensure high-quality exams.
• Provide customer service, including attentive eye contact, facial and body expressions, and tone of voice.
• Explain procedures to patients and give them an opportunity to ask questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust.
