About The Position

Byron Home is a full-service move management service that has assisted seniors and their families since 1998. The Moving Associate supports clients through the moving process, including sorting, packing, unpacking, settling into a new residence, and donating or disposing of remaining items. Work is primarily in Southern and Central New Jersey. Most jobs span two days, with packing on the first day and unpacking on the second; larger jobs may take three to four days. The position is part-time and offers flexibility in scheduling, with a possible opportunity to advance to a team leader position.

Requirements

• Have reliable transportation to travel to work locations, most of which are in Southern and Central New Jersey.
• Be physically able to perform the work.
• Be a strong team player and a self-starter.
• Have compassion and good listening skills.
• Have an interest in helping seniors and their families.

Responsibilities

• Support seniors through the transition by listening to and understanding their concerns.
• Assist with sorting items before the move.
• Pack clients’ belongings, usually focusing on one or two rooms while other team members work in other areas.
• Unpack and arrange contents in the new residence, aiming to make it feel as similar as possible to the previous home.
• Assist with donating and disposing of items.
• Help with internal moves at Senior Living Communities.
