About The Position
Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and families in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and surrounding areas of Florida. Care is delivered in pets’ homes, with an emphasis on being fully present, answering families’ questions with kindness, and helping them say goodbye with dignity and peace. The role offers a slower-paced alternative to traditional clinic practice, with only a few appointments a day and no double-booking or rushed goodbyes. The veterinarian practices independently while traveling to appointments, with support from thoughtful onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues. Schedule options range from two to five days per week, including self-managed scheduling and part-time options. Full-time compensation includes a $150,000 base salary for a five-day schedule or starting compensation of $110,000 for a four-day schedule, plus quarterly bonus opportunities. Other schedules receive prorated compensation based on the agreed schedule. The position requires choosing four weekend days per month rather than following a fixed weekend rotation. Candidates must complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before starting.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
