About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking a compassionate veterinarian to provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Florida, and surrounding areas. The role focuses on unhurried, dignified end-of-life care in the pet’s home, including listening to families, answering questions, and supporting them through difficult goodbyes. Veterinarians practice independently in the field, with onboarding, one-on-one mentorship, and experienced colleagues available for support. The practice offers schedule options ranging from two to five days per week, including self-managed schedules. Compensation varies by schedule: five-day full-time positions offer a $150,000 base salary, four-day full-time positions start at $110,000, and other schedules receive prorated compensation. Generous quarterly bonus opportunities are available. There is no non-compete agreement.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD, or BVMS).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
Complete license verification, a background check, and a driving record review before the start date.

Responsibilities

Provide hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets in their homes.
Support families during end-of-life decisions and help them say goodbye with dignity and peace.
Answer families’ questions with kindness and explain care in an unhurried manner.
Practice independently while using team support, onboarding, and mentorship as needed.
