About The Position
Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring a part-time mobile veterinarian serving Chicago West, Illinois, including Hanover Park, DeKalb, Geneva, Hoffman Estates, Aurora, and surrounding areas. The veterinarian provides compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and families in their homes, offering an alternative to traditional in-clinic practice. The role offers flexible schedules of two to five days per week and an average of three to four unhurried appointments per day. Veterinarians practice independently while receiving comprehensive onboarding, personalized mentorship, access to experienced leaders, and support from a 24/7/365 Support Center. The company describes its culture as kind and supportive, with a community of more than 400 veterinarians and support professionals. Part-time opportunities at two days per week offer a guaranteed annual base salary of $55,000, plus bonus opportunities and benefits. Compensation details for three-, four-, and five-day schedules are available upon request. Some benefits are limited to full-time team members.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Availability to work some weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Subject to a background and motor vehicle record check after hire and before the associated start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
- Conduct mobile veterinary appointments in clients’ homes across the assigned service area.
