About The Position
Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring a part-time Mobile Veterinarian in San Jose, California, serving Santa Clara, Morgan Hill, Los Gatos, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and surrounding areas. The veterinarian provides compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and families in their homes, helping families through meaningful end-of-life moments. The role offers independent mobile practice with support from a community of more than 400 veterinarians and support professionals, comprehensive onboarding, ongoing training, experienced mentors, practice managers, and a 24/7/365 Support Center. The average schedule includes three to four unrushed appointments per day. Part-time opportunities are available for two days per week, with flexible schedules of two to five days per week. The two-day-per-week opportunity offers a guaranteed annual base salary of $65,000, plus bonus opportunities and benefits. Compensation details for three-, four-, and five-day schedules are available upon request.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), or Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (BVMS) degree.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Availability to work some weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Candidates must pass a background and motor vehicle record check after hire and before their associated start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
- Conduct mobile veterinary appointments in clients’ homes.
