About The Position
Hillman is hiring a Mobile Locksmith Technician for its Automotive Key Services team. The technician operates a fully equipped mobile service van to provide automotive key cutting, duplication, programming, and locksmith services directly to customers. Working alongside an Automotive Mobile Sales Representative, the technician serves as the technical expert, troubleshoots customer issues, and helps deliver a seamless, customer-first experience. The role offers independence in a field-based environment and the opportunity to develop technical and customer service skills while contributing to business growth and customer satisfaction. The position pays $25 per hour plus 5% commission on sales. Hillman provides a service van and business-use fuel card, paid training and development, medical, dental, and vision benefits, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, holiday pay, and career advancement opportunities. Typical hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with schedule options of Thursday through Monday or Friday through Tuesday. Weekend availability is required, and the technician is expected to travel to one store location per day within a 50-mile radius.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a locksmith license where required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic computer, email, and mobile technology proficiency.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to work in a mobile, field-based environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends and varying schedules as business needs require.

Responsibilities
- Provide automotive key cutting, duplication, programming, and key fob services at customer locations.
- Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Partner with the Automotive Mobile Sales Representative to provide a seamless customer experience.
- Serve as the technical expert in the field and maintain a customer-first approach.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide effective solutions professionally.
- Manage and maintain a fully equipped mobile locksmith van.
- Maintain inventory, supplies, and equipment readiness.
- Coordinate customer appointments and daily service activities.
- Keep the van organized, professional, and ready for customers.
- Create positive customer experiences and build trust through professionalism, expertise, and reliability.
- Represent Hillman with integrity and exceptional service.
- Share feedback and recommendations to improve operations and customer experiences.
