About The Position

As a Mixologist at The Corner Store inside The Cosmopolitan, you will maintain extensive knowledge of menu offerings, liquor brands, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic selections while ensuring the bar is presented to high standards. You will create a memorable guest experience through welcoming service, attention to detail, and by understanding guests’ preferences and needs.

The role includes preparing and serving drinks, maintaining inventory and bar cleanliness, handling payments and required paperwork, and supporting the training of Apprentice Bartenders and Bar Porters. You will also provide food service, address guest complaints within your authority, communicate with management and other departments, and use sales techniques to promote food and beverage offerings. Special tools and culinary equipment may be used to prepare fresh juices, infusions, cocktails, cut ice, and presentation items.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fine-dining service experience.
• At least 5 years of prior relevant experience in a bar or similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, serve, and demonstrate knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, proportioning ingredients according to standards.
• Maintain bar inventory according to set pars and internal controls, and keep the bar and equipment clean.
• Account for beverages served, collect payments, follow cash-handling and variance procedures, prepare daily reports, and submit required paperwork.
• Train and mentor Apprentice Bartenders and Bar Porters on bar operations, guest service, and bartending.
• Provide food service and demonstrate knowledge of the menu, allergies, and guest restrictions, including proper marking and tableside service.
• Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; refer other matters to management and report unusual events, missing items, or alleged theft to a supervisor and/or Security.
• Use special tools and culinary equipment to prepare fresh juice, infusions, molecular-style cocktails, cut ice, and presentation items.
• Communicate effectively with management, bartenders, and other departments to address guest and employee needs.
• Use sales techniques to upsell food and beverage products and prepare polished, artistic cocktails that elevate the guest experience.
