The Hallmark Merchandiser independently services Hallmark departments in retail stores, including grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers. The role involves organizing and replenishing products, monitoring inventory, maintaining product displays, and building professional relationships with store employees and customers. Merchandisers use a Hallmark-provided mobile device for daily work, communication, time reporting, feedback, and required activity surveys. They may also support fellow merchandisers in nearby territories and occasionally work with other companies’ products in stores. This part-time role averages 9–13 hours per week and has a variable schedule during the work week. Additional days and extended hours may be needed around holidays, during seasonal changeovers, and for installations or inventory support. Holiday work may include weekends and, on some occasions, the holiday itself. Reset and remodel assignments may involve evenings or weekends, and employees are typically notified about remodel assignments two weeks in advance. The work takes place on retail selling floors and in back stockrooms and is physically demanding. Employees must frequently handle cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures weighing up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds, as well as kneel, squat, walk, stand, and potentially climb stairs or step ladders. Hallmark provides paid training through live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training.
