About The Position

Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) is a Fortune 500 company and one of the nation's largest providers of hospital and healthcare services. SandyPines Residential Treatment Center, a 149-bed Residential Psychiatric Facility serving children and adolescents ages 5 to 17, is seeking a Per Diem Mental Health Technician. Located in South Florida, the facility offers a unique, expansive outdoor atmosphere adjacent to Jonathan Dickinson State Park. This role is an active part of the patient treatment team, providing milieu management, continuous patient care supervision, and therapeutic interactions.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Current BLS certification required.
Must complete and maintain training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), including aggression management, crisis intervention, and restraint training. Training may be obtained during new hire orientation.
Must pass competency exams within 90 days of hire.
Must be able to prioritize workload, effectively multi-task, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent listening, communication, prioritization, and follow-through skills with a strong focus on providing high-quality patient care.
Continuous verbal and written communication.
Ability to hear ordinary conversation.
Occasional ability to hear high-pitched or low-pitched sounds.
Continuous firm/simple grasping and fine manipulating of both hands.

Nice To Haves

At least one (1) year of previous experience in a healthcare setting and/or previous behavioral health experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide milieu management and continuous patient care supervision.
Engage in interactions and role modeling with patients.
Ensure a safe environment for patients.
Lead therapeutic MHT patient groups.
Conduct Q15 rounds and one-to-one patient supervision.
Participate in crisis intervention situations as needed.
Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team.
Maintain awareness of patients' individualized plans of care, including goals and interventions.
