About The Position

The Memory Care Support Partner creates empathetic human connections with residents during vulnerable moments and helps support their daily lives. The role involves learning about residents’ interests and abilities, collaborating on and implementing appropriate engagement plans, and preparing resident spaces and shared areas for daily routines and activities. The position also includes documenting resident care and changes in condition and assisting with the orientation of team members assigned to memory care neighborhoods. This is a part-time position at Barrymore in Kansas City, Missouri. The scheduled shift is Friday and Saturday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Pay is $18.50–$28.25 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
Have a positive and energetic attitude and enjoy working with residents.
Have computer skills sufficient to print documents and enter resident information.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
Be able to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Be able to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, as well as assist people after a fall.
Be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

Create empathetic human connections with residents during vulnerable moments.
Observe and learn residents’ interests, abilities, and individual characteristics.
Collaborate to create appropriate engagement plans and implement strategies patiently.
Prepare dining rooms, libraries, resident rooms, and other areas for daily routines and activities.
Partner with residents in daily life, from waking to going to sleep.
Document resident care and changes in condition.
Assist with orientation of team members assigned to memory care neighborhoods.
Assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, including assisting people after a fall.
