About The Position

The Member Services Representative (MSR) is the first point of contact for Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests. The role provides exceptional customer service, handles membership inquiries and transactions, and helps maintain a clean, comfortable, and friendly “Judgement Free Zone®” environment. The position is on-site and full-time, with an afternoon/evening schedule. Bilingual English/Spanish applicants are encouraged to apply. The MSR supports a positive member experience through friendly and professional interactions, prompt assistance, and knowledge of club culture, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include greeting and assisting members, supporting sales and membership transactions, operating the front desk, and performing assigned cleaning and facility upkeep duties. The position requires a satisfactory National Sex Offender Registry search for day and evening MSRs. The employee must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within company-required time frames and be physically able to perform CPR/AED in an emergency. Tanning certification must also be obtained within the company-required time frame.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must work on-site; the position is not remote.

Must interact with members and employees professionally, respectfully, and with a solutions-oriented approach.
Must be committed to cleanliness and creating a positive member experience.
Must be able to learn and apply company cleaning practices, policies, and procedures.
Must be able to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within required time frames and be physically able to perform CPR/AED in an emergency.
Must obtain tanning certification within company-required time frames.
Day and evening MSRs must submit to a National Sex Offender Registry search; continued employment depends on a satisfactory outcome.
Must be able to perform the physical functions described, including prolonged standing and walking, frequent bending and other movements, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to communicate verbally in person or by phone and operate equipment as needed.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience working in a club fitness setting.
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.
Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

Greet members, prospective members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide outstanding customer service and create a positive club experience.
Respond promptly and courteously to member questions and concerns; escalate issues to the Assistant Manager or General Manager when needed.
Assist members with account inquiries, account changes, and billing questions.
Explain Planet Fitness memberships and amenities, give tours, assist with sign-ups, and promote membership specials and upgrades such as the Black Card.
Meet or exceed membership and customer service goals.
Check members into the club using the POS system and answer phones professionally and efficiently.
Accurately process new memberships, cancellations, and payments.
Follow assigned opening and closing procedures.
Perform assigned cleaning duties and help maintain restrooms, locker rooms, workout areas, and other parts of the facility.
Return weights to the appropriate rack areas and regularly walk the floor to keep the club clean, organized, and safe.
Refill cleaning stations and supplies as needed.
Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification and obtain tanning certification within company-required time frames.
