About The Position

The Member Services Representative (MSR) is the first point of contact for members, prospective members, and guests at an on-site Planet Fitness club. The role provides friendly, professional customer service and helps create an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience. The MSR handles membership questions and transactions, supports sales and sign-ups, and helps maintain a clean, comfortable, organized, and safe club environment. This is a part-time morning position. Employees must complete a National Sex Offender Registry search, with continued employment dependent on a satisfactory outcome. The employee must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within company timeframes and be physically able to perform CPR/AED during an emergency, as well as obtain Tanning Certification within the required timeframe. Bilingual English/Spanish applicants are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must work on-site; this is not a remote position.

Must be reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Must interact with members and employees professionally, respectfully, and with a solutions-oriented approach.
Must be committed to cleanliness and creating a positive member experience.
Ability to learn and apply company cleaning practices, policies, and procedures.
Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within required timeframes and be physically able to perform CPR/AED during a medical emergency.
Must obtain Tanning Certification within company-required timeframes.
Must submit to a National Sex Offender Registry search; continued employment depends on a satisfactory outcome.
Must be able to perform prolonged standing and walking; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, twisting, repetitive hand movements, and lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
Must be able to operate assigned equipment as needed and verbally communicate in person or by phone to exchange information.
Normal vision and hearing, with or without correction.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are encouraged.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience working in a club fitness setting.
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Greet members, prospective members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide outstanding customer service and respond to member questions and concerns promptly and courteously.
Assist members with account inquiries, account changes, and billing questions.
Explain Planet Fitness memberships and amenities; provide tours and assist prospective members with sign-ups.
Promote and explain membership specials and upgrades, including Black Card membership, and meet or exceed membership and customer service goals.
Check members into the club using the club POS system and answer phones professionally and efficiently.
Process new memberships, cancellations, and payments accurately.
Follow assigned opening and closing procedures.
Inform the Assistant Manager or General Manager if member issues arise.
Perform assigned cleaning duties and help maintain cleanliness in restrooms, locker rooms, workout areas, and throughout the facility.
Return weights to their appropriate rack areas and regularly walk the floor to keep the club clean, organized, and safe.
Refill cleaning stations and supplies as needed.
