About The Position

The Member Services Representative (MSR) is the first point of contact for Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests. The role provides exceptional customer service and helps create a positive, friendly “Judgement Free Zone®” experience through professional interactions, prompt support, and knowledge of club culture, policies, and procedures. This position is part-time, morning, hourly, non-exempt, and performed on-site. It reports to the Club Manager or Assistant Club Manager. Bilingual English/Spanish applicants are encouraged to apply. The MSR supports membership inquiries and transactions, front desk operations, and the cleanliness and safety of the club. The role requires obtaining and maintaining CPR/AED certification within required timeframes and obtaining Tanning Certification within the company’s required timeframe. Continued employment is contingent on a satisfactory National Sex Offender Registry search. The employee must be able to perform CPR/AED in an emergency. The work takes place indoors, with exposure to noise, dust, cleaning chemicals, and gym equipment. It involves prolonged standing and walking, and may require frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, twisting, repetitive hand movements, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Normal vision and hearing, with or without correction, are required. Reasonable ADA accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Submit to a National Sex Offender Registry search; continued employment is contingent on a satisfactory outcome.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including prolonged standing and walking and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.
Ability to operate assigned equipment and communicate verbally in person or by phone.
Normal vision and hearing, with or without correction.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience working in a club fitness setting.
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Greet members, prospective members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
Provide outstanding customer service and contribute to a positive club experience.
Respond promptly and courteously to member questions and concerns; escalate issues to the Assistant Manager or General Manager as appropriate.
Assist members with account inquiries, changes, and billing questions.
Explain memberships, amenities, current specials, and upgrades, including the Black Card membership.
Give club tours and assist prospective members with sign-ups.
Meet or exceed membership and customer service goals.
Check members into the club using the point-of-sale system.
Answer phones professionally and efficiently.
Accurately process new memberships, cancellations, and payments.
Follow assigned opening and closing procedures.
Perform assigned cleaning duties throughout the shift and help keep restrooms, locker rooms, and workout areas clean.
Return weights to the appropriate racks and regularly walk the floor to keep the club clean, organized, and safe.
Refill cleaning stations and supplies as needed.
